Artie

I never shared my Artie Quadfecta animation I did at the beginning of February.  Truth be told, I am not the happiest with it so I've been letting it sit so I could look at it with fresh eyes again, but I need some outside opinions as well. Any critiques you have on it would be greatly appreciated!

Happy Friday everyone and enjoy the rest of our break!

"Where are my cookies?"

One of two pitches I made for my concept class.  The second was about a man stuck on the moon.

Have a cookie today.  Or several.

Jack and Jill went up the hill....

We're were studying editing techniques in concept and I was assigned the one of "Parallelism."  We had to take an old nursery rhyme or tale and revamp it into something new.  I decided to play with the idea of Jack and Jill.  Here are some character designs I did for them!

Lights! Camera! Texturing!

Woo!  We have just finished up the first adventures with lighting, texturing, and compositing!  I had a lot of fun with these projects!

All of the models unless stated are provided by Ringling College.  Lighting, texturing, compositing is all done by myself using Maya, Photoshop, Renderman, and Nuke.

First, the cemetery:

Still Life:

This one was a toughie: I was really struggling with it when we turned in our semi-final (above).  I was unhappy with how 'fake' it looked, the composition wasn't interesting, it just wasn't up to the standards I expected for myself.  So, I did a major revamp and put in about 10 more hours or so to make something I think looks a little better.  I'm still not completely happy with it and I think it could use a lot more fine tuning, but sometimes you need to just let it be.

I even practiced my modeling by making the picnic basket for this.

Have a very jolly day!

SPRIIINNNG BREAAAAAAK.

Woo!  This semester has just flown by, I can't believe it's already halfway over!  Crazy.  Sorry for not updating, I lived in my own little shell for a while just trying to complete everything on time.  But now there's some time off!  I've never been more relieved!  I'll be posting a lot more regularly from now on, so keep your eyes peeled!

(the image above was a little something I drew for my roommate's birthday, someone who puts up with more than any roommate should ever have to deal with.  she's also super talented, so check her out on her website, blog, or her behance!  )
